Introduction

The Department of Medical Technology was established in September 1981, in order to educate Medical Technologists, Laboratory managers, Laboratory Scientists and researchers in Biomedicine. Biotechnology industry is promoted in Taiwan, becoming the star industry of the 21st century. In August 2004, the Department of Medical Technology was renamed as “Department of Medical Laboratory Science and Biotechnology”, so as to provide student with the additional curriculum necessary for biotechnology industry. The Graduate Program for Master in the Department of Medical Laboratory Science and Biotechnology was set up in August 2005, training students to actively engage in research on laboratory medicine and biotechnology.  The Department of Medical Laboratory Science and Biotechnology at China Medical University covers both fields of laboratory medicine and biomedical biotechnology, encouraging close ties with health care and biotechnology industry and preparing our students for either a professional or academic career.

UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM MASTER PROGRAM
1. To cultivate undergraduates who are excellence in laboratory medicine and biotechnology and competencies to enhance the technological level of healthcare and biotechnology in Taiwan. 1. To cultivate highly trained graduates with competencies in keeping with the cutting-edge and interdisciplinary study on laboratory medicine and biotechnology industry.
2. To develop prospective study of clinical laboratory and biotechnology for excellence in teaching, research/scholarly activities and professional service. 2. To create an excellent   environment for teaching and research on basic and applied sciences of laboratory medicine and biotechnology.

2. To inspire students to with enthusiasm for the basic and applied knowledge of medical biotechnology. 2. To cultivate graduates in creativity, critical thinking skill, and independent judgments.
3. To instill students with high standards of performance on clinical affiliates and biotechnology industries. 3. To foster graduates in the transition from professional knowledge and performance to innovation in the clinical science and biotechnology industry.
